Impressions
I went to Miyoshi Winery in May!
About an hour and a half by car from Hiroshima city.
It was a good road for driving.
In various places, trivia such as how to make wine are posted.(Only Japanese)
It's actually possible to see the wine bottling process, but it wasn't working on Sunday.
If you want to see the manufacturing process, I recommend that you check in advance before going!
There is a place in the basement where the wine is actually stored in barrels.
This area is very cool!
Maybe around 10 degrees Celsius.
This is what the souvenir shop looks like.
We sell wine, snacks that go well with wine, and sweets.
I get the impression that they mainly deal in specialty products from Hiroshima prefecture.
In the back of the souvenir shop, there is a free tasting corner that everyone is looking forward to.
The wine here is called "Kiriri(霧里) Wine", which is relatively reasonable among tertiary wines.
There were 4 types of wine tasting, 2 types of red wine and 2 types of white wine!
By the way, there is also a grape juice tasting.
It is very popular with children and adults who are drivers, and it may have been more crowded here.
My wife was drinking deliciously.
High-grade wines such as "TOMOÉ" wine are displayed in this booth.
In addition to the characteristics of each wine, I was happy that the staffs introduced them recommended dishes!
When it comes to wine, I had a strong impression that it goes well with French and Italian cuisine.
But it was interesting to see that the wine recommendations were not limited to any cuisine, such as dumplings or sushi.
By the way, tasting of wines such as "TOMOÉ" is unfortunately charged.
However, you can try it at a very reasonable price of 200 yen per cup.(About 1~2$)
TOMOÉ wine
About
Miyoshi Winery started working on the TOMOÉ series in 2018.
Based on the policy that "the quality of wine is determined by the quality of the grapes", we value Miyoshi's climate and topography, and cultivate varieties such as Merlot, Syrah and Pinot Noir in addition to Merlot.Based on the policy that "the quality of wine is determined by the quality of the grapes", they value Miyoshi's climate and topography, and cultivate varieties such as Merlot, Syrah and Pinot Noir in addition to Merlot.
They assesses the condition on a day-by-day basis and practices cultivation in harmony with nature, avoiding excessive fertilizer and pesticide spraying, with a style of "providing only the necessary amount of the necessary material at the necessary time".
All the harvesting is done by hand, and by carefully sorting each one, it leads to wine making using high-quality grapes.
TOMOÉ wines are not 100% single-varietal wines.
Rather, in order to get closer to the desired taste, professional brewers rely on their senses and experience to actively blend and bring out the characteristics of each.
It creates an original taste.
It has received high acclaim in recent years both domestically and internationally, making it a wine that shows the high level of its quality.

Impressions
This time, one of the ones I bought, "TOMOÉ Miyoshi Rouge".
A red wine with a medium bodied taste.
Here for product overview ↓
"Fruit like plum and floral scent reminiscent of violets.
Round impression with soft acidity and smooth tannins. "
When I actually drank it, I didn't feel much astringency, and it was an easy-to-drink red wine with a hint of acidity.
It was a perfect drink to eat with meat dishes that salt and pepper!
However, it is Miyoshi Winery limited edition.
It's a pity that you can't buy it online, but if you have a chance to visit Miyoshi Winery, please check it out.
This time, the second one I bought, "TOMOÉ Chardonnay Reserve".
A dry white wine.
Here for product overview ↓
"Clear yellow gold.
The aroma of oak and citrus-like fruit gives the wine a three-dimensional effect.
Elegant impression with just the right amount of concentration and a refreshing aftertaste. "
As for my impression when I drank it, it was very delicious with a sour taste reminiscent of lemon and a vanilla-like scent that lingered on my tongue forever.
I thought this wine would go well with seafood such as oysters and other shellfish.
How about a first bottle of TOMOÉ wine?
Finally
That concludes my impressions of Miyoshi Winery and TOMOÉ Wine.
It's hard to recommend Miyoshi Winery to people outside the prefecture, but it's a place where you can drink, play, and drive, so if you have the chance, please visit.
About TOMOÉ wine, it was very easy to drink and I would like people who don't like wine to try it once.
(I think it is made to suit the Japanese tongue.)
Maybe it happened to be the case with the two bottles I bought this time, but the wines felt refreshing rather than solid.
I am happy to have something delicious today.
Cheers to everyone today!
